Julianne is a PhD student in the Davis research group. Her broad research interest is in assessing scalable decarbonization strategies that are both economically viable and policy-relevant. More specifically, she is currently working on projects involving net-zero emissions energy systems, difficult-to-decarbonize energy services, zero carbon liquid fuels, and carbon management. Julianne received her B.A. in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College in 2019, where she studied recent changes in melting rates of the Greenland Ice Sheet. Her background in studying the devastating impacts of climate change motivated her shift toward graduate research in climate solutions. In her free time, Julianne loves to hike, both for the views and for getting up-close with cool rock formations.
As an undergraduate, Julianne presented preliminary results from the Greenland Traverse for Accumulation and Climate Studies (GreenTrACS) on changes in melt layer content and distribution in 2017.
