Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are key elements in research and classroom environment.
I have a strong commitment to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion and a welcoming and supportive work climate. I consider this commitment to be a key part of my profession at the campus, school, and department level because it increases the learning and developmental outcomes of students.
An active plan on diversity and inclusive excellence increases URM, women, and diverse applications and hiring at the faculty level and for graduate and undergraduate student recruitment.
Improving diversity and developing an equitable and inclusive climate have been shown by many studies to improve faculty development, research productivity, and faculty retention.
There are many simple activities and best practices that would help foster and promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusive excellence.
